About NW Bio-X Limited
Founded by a seasoned R&D leader and certified project manager, bringing deep technical expertise and proven project management capabilities to every engagement.
As Head of Microbial Engineering and a member of the senior management team at Colorifix, Neil directed scientific strategy across a period of rapid expansion, line-managing a team of six scientists and implementing DBTL pipelines, multi-omics approaches, and biosynthetic pathway engineering in both model and non-model organisms. His collaborative leadership style and ability to secure non-dilutive funding contributed directly to the company’s successful £18 million Series B raise — giving him firsthand experience of what it takes to grow a venture-backed engineering biology company.
Neil’s research contributions include 31 peer-reviewed publications, with three recognized as “must read” and “recommended read” by Faculty 1000, and two selected as research highlights in leading journals. Neil has led and contributed to grant applications totalling over £3.5M, with a 70 % success rate, including two Innovate UK industry-academia collaborations exceeding £750,000. As a PRINCE2® Practitioner and AgilePM® Foundation-certified project manager, he manages all aspects from scope definition and work package design through to delivery.
With two years of experience lecturing MSc students at the University of Hertfordshire on antimicrobial resistance challenges and opportunities, Neil combines research expertise with strong teaching and communication skills, enabling effective knowledge transfer and capacity building for client teams.
